Several registered nurses stood outside of Valley Regional Medical Center with signs Tuesday. They are pushing for a union for registered nurses at the Hospital. A vote will take place Wednesday and Thursday at the Hospital. A final decision will be made on Thursday. Matt Fernandez has the story.

If nurses in the Valley began to unionize -- in an area of the country where there are already enough concerns regarding Valley-wide Medicare and Medicaid fraud cases, an ever-worsening drug war, and decades-spanning immigration concerns, it won't be long before our nursing shortage continues to worsen. Imagine, for a minute, if the nurses caring for your loved ones decided to strike, leaving him/her and every other patient to fend for themselves, all for the sake of earning a fatter paycheck.
