A missing stop sign may be to blame for the death of a 9 year-old girl who was killed in a car accident on Sunday morning.

The Department of Public Safety  says the missing stop sign located at the intersection of Canton road and FM 1423 was missing when two vehicles collided and the 9 year-old girl was killed. It appears that the car traveling eastbound on Canton road and the other car traveling southbound on FM 1423 crashed into each other at the intersection. NewsCenter 23 spoke with the victim's cousin and she says people who live in the area should have reported about the missing sign to local officials.
