Man Found Guilty of Murder In Bar Brawl With Dash Cam Video

After hours of deliberation, a Cameron County jury ruled Oklahoma native, Charles Warden is guilty of murder for the 2007 killing of a Valley man outside a South Padre Island bar.
Newscenter 23's Kenny Lopez just returned from the Cameron County Courthouse and he joins us now with more.
The jury found Oklahoma native, Charles Wayne Warden guilty on all three counts.
Warden was found guilty of killing 22-year old, johnny bennett, and for the attempted murder of 26 year old, chris guitterrez, and guilty of aggravated assault.
Now, this piece of evidence, dash cam video was a major deciding factor in today's guilty verdicts.
Police caught it all on tape, the night of the murder, in the parking lot outside, Club Salsa's back in October of 2007.
South Padre Police say in this video you can clearly see, chairs flying, then, Warden firing gun shots at Johnny Bennett's heart. Bennett then stumbled off, eventually falling to the ground. Then warden, dropped the gun,
Police immediately arrested him.
Today in court, prosecutors say, was drunk and on-drugs at the time of the murder, but defense attorneys say he was insane and did not know what he was doing.
News Center 23 spoke to Bennett's sister, Samantha
and she says, the murder of her brother, still hurts.

"I imagined my life growing old with him, and that i can't even do anymore."
As the judge read the guilty verdict, Samantha burst into tears, and says justice was served.
The next step is deciding Warden's punishment.
Cameron County District Attorney's Office Spokesman, Jason Moody says, for the murder of Bennett, he could face no less than five years to 99 years or life behind bars.
For the attempted murder of Guitterrez and aggravated assault charge, he faces no less than 2-20 years.
