Local shelters open for residents

Shelters around the Valley are now open for residents needing to take refuge from Hurricane Alex. In Brownsville, Porter high school is opened and located at 3500 International Blvd. In Hidalgo, McAllen Memorial high school, PSJA high school in San Juan, Veterans Middle school in Donna is also open. All evacuees are asked to bring their own bedding and linens.

Mid Valley Assembly of God Church will be open as a shelter at 3pm Wednesday. They are located at 131 S. Pleasantview Dr. in Weslaco. Contact number 956 973 9673. Those seeking shelter need to bring bedding, other personal items, non-
perishable food, and water.
