Local services close in preparation of Hurricane Alex.

Cameron county is closing Boca Chica beach and the County Courthouse in preparation to Hurricane Alex. Law enforcement officials will be stopping anyone trying to get to the beach and have them turn back around.


Su Clinica Familiar will close all of its facilities for patient care Wednesday, June 30 and Thursday, July 1, 2010 in response to the approach of Tropical Storm Alex. This announcement includes all of the clinic’s facilities including those in Harlingen, Brownsville, Raymondville, and Santa Rosa.

Planned Parenthood Association of Cameron and Willacy Counties will close its four clinics located at 370 Old Port Isabel Road and 5636 Southmost Road, Ste A. in Brownsville, 712 N 77 Sunshine Strip, Ste 18 in Harlingen and 112 South
1st in Raymondville TODAY AT NOON. The clinics will re-open on Thursday, July 1 at 8 am if weather permits. Please call (956) 546-4574 for more information.

Brownsville Community Health Center will close this afternoon, 6/30, and tomorrow 7/1 due to hurricane Alex. We will assess weather situations Friday and announce whether we will re-open then. Patients of BCHC needing emergency
care should go to the nearest emergency room.
