Local first responders learn sign lanuage.

With hurricane season just around the corner, emergency first responders from the Valley were given a special course for special people. The Valley Association for Independent Living, along with the association of  Cameron and Hidalgo counties, hosted a six week program called "Basic American Sign Language for Emergency First Responders", in an effort to help them better communicate with the deaf and hard of hearing, who make up 10% of our community.
