La Joya Police Seize 700 Pounds of Marijuana

More than 700 pounds of marijuana are off the streets in Hidalgo county after a La Joya police tried to make a normal traffic stop, Daisy Martinez has more.

It started as a normal traffic stop and ended in the seizure of 66 bundles of marijuana totaling near 700 pounds. As the driver pulled over the truck and jumped out running into a wooded area. Police inspected the truck and found the marijuana in the back of the bed of the truck. The driver did get away and police say the truck was not reported stolen.
