A high speed chase through La Joya ends with a marijuana bust and police say it's becoming an all too common scene.

In an early morning chase La Joya police pursued a car, but the driver refused, which began a police chase through city streets and ended near the Rio Grande river. The driver of the car jumped out of the car and ran into the brush barefoot leaving behind 36 bundles of marijuana weighing more than 400 pounds. Congressman Henry Cuellar is encouraging Homeland Security to look at equipment that would help law enforcement prevent high speed chases.
