September 30th on Falcon Lake David Hartley according to his wife Tiffany says he was shot and killed in Mexico by Mexican pirates while they were jetskiing.
That same day in Brownsville police say two alleged cartel members were shot and killed in Brownsville. Governor Rick Perry says the federal government is not doing enough to secure our border.

"One of the reasons we have seen the increased violence is because the cartels do not see any movement from the federal government."

The governor says he asked the federal government for 1,000 National Guard Troops and says there is a need of 3,000 Border Patrol agents to help secure our border. He says he will do what he can at the state level.

"We are going to continue to have our resources whether it's the Texas Rangers Recon teams, whether it's the support of our local sheriff and police."

The governor says he will continue to push the Federal government to send more resources to keep our border safe.
