Former Customs officer sentenced to prison.

A former U.S. Customs and Border Protection officer has been sentenced to more than 11 years in federal prison for a number of felony charges.

Raul Montano of Weslaco, pleaded guilty to charges of cocaine trafficking, smuggling undocumented immigrants and bribery. Montano was working as an officer at the Gateway International bridge in Brownsville and found guilty of pocketing thousands of dollars to allow vehicles to cross his check point without undergoing inspection.
