Fire Marshal Warns of Safety First for Wintery Conditions

Temperatures this week will get frigid especially during the night time. For those who do not have central heat in your homes Fire Marshal Henry Lopez warns people using heaters to be very cautious.

"Don't put any close by or even let people close to the space heater because you if you don't feel it the blankets can get hot and catch on fire."

Lopez also warns folks to be especially careful is using a stove to try to stay warm.

"Be careful and open up a window so they can have some circulation it wont deplete the oxygen and create and environment without carbon monoxide."

If you don't have a home authorities are urging you seek shelter, but if you are outside dress approprietly.

"If they have nothing else layer there clothing maybe sweat shirt have long johns, maybe sweats or a pair of pants. If they can layer two to three layers should help them right there."
