From only having one patrol unit in the entire City of Elsa, the police department is now equipped with seven patrol units that will help in protecting the community, Michelle Macias has the story.

It was a long time coming for the police department in Elsa and then have to wait a year to receive the much needed units to patrol the city. Now that's no longer the case after the department received $66,000 dollars from the U.S. Department of Justice to purchase the seven vehicles.  The Elsa police department has 15 officers on the force and they will be patrolling the community in the new units.

and they never had just one unit in the entire city.. that's bull. by the way, the guy stood there from 4:30 till 6:30. Until TX dOTS came. and the city worker came with the stop signs at the exact same time. what a joke!

Why so many units if the other day the light signals were malfunctioned and I called the city and the police dept. around 4:30 p.m. to tell them to come and direct traffic or place 4 way stop signs , and the police dept. said, We only have ONE officer on duty right now, so we can't go. Nobody came! A great Samaritan stood at the light corner telling cars that the lights were not working, and it was very hot outside. The police never came to even buy the poor guy a water bottle for standing there
