Brownsville's Memorial Day silent march remembers fallen soldiers.

The City of Brownsville celebrated the memory of those men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice with a silent march, Julio Olivo has the story.

With a flyover by the Confederate Air Force, hundreds of citizens and veterans walked the 1 mile silent march from Boca Chica to Central Boulevard ending at Veteran's Park. This year marks the 12th Annual Memorial Day march and many veterans like Larry Jokl has participated each year.  Even the younger generations are starting to get involved and learn the significance of the event and the fall soldiers who gave their lives for this country.

The event took place with the raising of the American flag, followed by a 3 volley salute and then the traditional playing of Taps, all in memory of the soldiers.
