Border Patrol agents in Mission stopped what could have been a drug smuggling incident on Thursday.

As the agents patrolled a levee on Military highway, they spotted a blue van driving away from the Rio Grande river. The driver noticed the agents and returned back to the river and began unloading the bundles onto a motor boat. Agents report that the men and the drugs returned back to Mexico leaving the van behind.
