Beach Goers to Pay $5 Dollar Trash Deposit

Don't Mess with Texas doesn't seem to be working on South Padre Island beaches and that has Cameron county commissioners concerned about the trash problem on the beaches.

The commissioners are implementing a program called, "Bag of Trash Return Fund", which is expected to start soon and require beach goers to leave a $5 dollar deposit for trash collection at beach accesses five and six. It's in addition to the $3 dollar fee that's normally charged for entry to the beach. When beach goers leave the park, if they return the trash bag, the $5 dollar fee will be refunded.
