Like so many right before Halloween, I love picking out the perfect pumpkin for carving up!!! Those cute little orange gourds have no idea what's about to happen to them! (Evil laugh!) Ha, ha, ha, ha!!!

Meet Raja at the Glady's Porter Zoo

Another new addition to the Glady's Porter Zoo. This time, Raja the komodo dragon. Raja was born in the Los Angeles Zoo, then transferred to San Diego before making his home here in Brownsville.

The bats will return!

The bats were removed, but are now going to return to the Stegman building in downtown Brownsville. We brought you this story in August when plans for renovations were halted by a colony of bats.

Partial Eclipse on Thursday, but DON'T LOOK!

The RGV will be treated to another celestial treat on Thursday afternoon:  a partial eclipse of the sun!!  The only problem... we should NOT look at it without protective eyewear.
