Former New Orleans Mayor Indicted for Bribery
NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIAN - Former New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin has been indicted on federal corruption charges today.
The 25 - page indictment has charges of conspiracy, money laundering and fraud.
This comes after two city contractors pleaded guilty to bribing Nagin in return for np-bid contracts.
Nagin ran for mayor on the promise he would root out corruption and bring high tech savvy to the city hall.
He took office in 2002 and served for eight years. Nagin was mayor during hurricane Katrina.
