Residents living near the home that was burglarized Thursday night near Alton Gloor, can rest easy knowing that the incident was an isolated one, according to Brownsville Police.
News Center 23 Reporter Na'Tassia Finley has more on what investigators have discovered.
According to neighbors, it was a bit of an unnerving scene for their quiet little neighborhood, and likely an even scarier situation inside for two women who were tied up at the hands of men who forced their way into the home.
Brownsville Police say the incident was isolated.
"People need not worry, this was not a random thing, you know, it was a home that was specifically targeted." said Brownsville Police Dept. PIO, Eddie Garcia.
The burglary with intent to commit a felony occurred Thursday at about three in the afternoon. Police believe the two subjects knew exactly what they were looking for when breaking into the home located on the 13-hundred block of Pita St.
"The burglary was too quick, clean, concise, these individuals knew exactly where they were going, what they were going to do inside the home." said Garcia.
Investigators believe the suspects had inside information that cash was stored in a certain area of the home, and according to Garcia, that was the only area of the house targeted. The men did get away with an undisclosed amount of cash.
"Usually they will make mistakes and they will talk and hopefully someone will give us information, a tip, that will lead to the arrest of these individuals." said Garcia.
