Many children each year begin school without the proper school supplies or clothing. The Children’s Museum of Brownsville is asking Museum patrons, student organizations and clubs, businesses and groups to pick up a “Happy Apple Tag” as a pledge to purchase an item to donate back to the Museum before Friday, August 12, 2011. All donated items will be sorted by grade level and given to children who attend Brite’s Back to School Bash on Saturday, August 13, 2011 from 1 pm – 3 pm. Giveaways are on a first come first serve basis. The Bash includes fun educational activities geared toward the upcoming school year! The Children’s Museum team wants to help kids prepare for school with stations throughout the museum featuring math, reading, science, history and health.
