Is your child wild about wildlife? Quinta Mazatlan is offering a truly unique day camp experience. The kids that attend camp will have fun exploring the wonders of the world and creating eco-crafts. The series will kick-off with the 1st day camp on Saturday, January 21st with “The Young Naturalist” program. Youth ages 8-11 will go on a fun nature study hike observing native birds and plants. In teams, they will identify animal skulls, learn reptile facts, and practice 10 essential survival skills, including building a debris hut to keep warm in the wild. Indoors, our young naturalists will investigate food chains by engaging in a hands-on activity where they dissect and mount the contents of an owl pellet.
Quinta Mazatlan is offering six Saturday sessions (beginning January 21st through May 19th, 2012 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.). Based on your child’s age and interest, you can sign up for one or several of the camps. Camp WILD Things strengthens the bond between children and nature, the great outdoors, our environment and all living things.
The Camp WILD Things series is open to individual students as well as Scout Troops and designed to meet most requirements to earn a badge or award. Group registrations are required prior to the scheduled program. Fee per Saturday session is $5.00, which will cover the cost of materials.
