The 7th Annual Crime Victim’s Resource Expo

In preparation for 2012 National Crime Victims’ Rights Week, the Cameron County and District Attorney’s Office Victims’ Assistance Program would like to extend an invitation to the community to participate in the 7th Annual Crime Victims Expo. There has been tremendous progress when it comes to victims’ rights, but challenges do remain. We hope that the Expo, with your assistance, helps us in overcoming those challenges by taking time to educate our community.

This year’s theme “Extending the VISION reaching every VICTIM” pays tribute to the millions of crime victims over the decades who have summoned the strength to rebuild their shattered lives, families, and communities, one step at a time. Similarly, it honors the victim service community whose members have walked alongside these victims, responding to their courage with unwavering commitment and skillful guidance.

The purpose of the 7th Annual Crime Victims Expo is to bring community awareness to the citizens of Cameron County, educate them on the agencies that directly service victims of violent crime. We encourage community organizations to participate by setting up an exhibit where they can disseminate information to the public.

The Expo is a FREE event and will include giveaways, door prizes, a wreath ceremony, and information booths for the public. We hope you will join us to commemorate 2012 National Crime Victims’ Rights Week and truly summons the citizens of Cameron County to advance the rights of victims of crime
