DA Candidate Placed On Leave On Eve Of Election

CAMERON COUNTY - Republican candidate, Chuck Mattingly, who's running for Cameron County District Attorney has a little more free time on his hands as the election is quickly approaching. Instead of putting criminals behind bars and getting justice for victims, he himself feels as though he's become a victim of political corruption. He's been put on leave from the Cameron County District Attorney's Office where he acted as a prosecutor, he received a letter from the office last Saturday.

"The letter said complaints had been filed against me.. to me"

He thinks the notice was times just right along with an accompanying news paper that came out the very next day.

He says this is dirty politics at it's finest and he believes it's all about keeping democratic power in the Cameron County DA's Office. It's not about being Democrat or Republican in Cameron County.

Mattingly is up against Democratic Candidate Luis Saenz and on November sixth we'll know who's been elected to that top spot in the district attorney's office.
