Eligibility: Must be at least 18 years of age or older and must reside in Cameron, Willacy, Hidalgo, Starr or Kennedy county to qualify and must have valid identification with a picture (such as a valid Texas driver's license) [and] social security card. Caller can not have won any KVEO contest in the past thirty days in order to qualify. Employees of KVEO, Communications Corporation of America, other related sponsors and their immediate families may not participate and are not eligible to win. The term “immediate families” includes spouses, parents, siblings, grandparents, children, grandchildren and/or persons residing with such parties.

How to Win: Monday through Friday, once a day during NEWS CENTER 23 at 5:00 P.M., 6:00 P.M. or 10:00 P.M. viewers will see the phone number to call in to KVEO NBC 23. If the 23rd caller meets all the requirements of the rules, he or she will win $230. If the 23rd caller is not eligible to participate, the next eligible caller will win. KVEO NBC 23 will give away a total of fifteen $230 checks. KVEO NBC 23’s 23,000 Pennies a Day Giveaway Contest airs during News Center 23 at 5:00 P.M., 6:00 P.M., or 10:00 P.M. Monday through Friday, beginning April 28, 2008 and ending May 16, 2008, although these times can fluctuate based upon programming needs and restrictions. KVEO NBC 23 reserves the right to broadcast additional or less KVEO NBC 23’s 23,000 Pennies a Day Giveaway contests at any time KVEO NBC 23’s management sees fit.

All participants assume all responsibility and indemnify Comcorp of Texas dba KVEO-TV and/or all participating sponsors and all of their respective agents, representatives, sponsors, officials, lawyers and all other Corporations, Partnerships, Joint Ventures, private or governmental acting through, by, or in connection with KVEO NBC 23’s 23,000 Pennies a Day Giveaway contest. Participants forever release and indemnify any and all of the above from any claim, demand, medical expenses, injuries, loss of services whatsoever and for any and all other claims that may be asserted as a result of participation in KVEO NBC 23’s 23,000 Pennies a Day Giveaway contest.

Telephone and Delivery Disclaimer. Participants are restricted to the use of ordinary telephone equipment. Participants that enable the “Caller ID” block function will not be allowed to participate unless Company is able to otherwise verify a valid and correct area code and telephone number. Company disclaims all liability for the inability of a participant to complete or continue a telephone call due to equipment malfunction, busy lines, inadvertent disconnections, acts beyond Company’s control, or otherwise. In the event of any malfunction or inadvertent disconnection, Company shall award the prize to the next caller, who shall be bound by all of the rules stated herein. Company disclaims all liability for any delays, mis-delivery, loss, or failure in the delivery of any item sent by mail, courier, express, electronic transmission, or other delivery method. All calls by participants may be recorded without permission from participants. Company also disclaims all liability in the event that the contest cannot be aired each day by reason of the occurrence of any Force Majeure. Force Majeure may be an act of God, war, fire, flood, strike, labor dispute or lockout, public disaster, breaking news, interruption of electrical or telephone service or any other cause not within the reasonable control of the company.

Prize Redemption/Claim/Releases Winners must come by the KVEO NBC 23 Brownsville offices located at 394 N. Expressway to fill out all KVEO NBC 23, federal and state forms, and an affidavit of release. To meet Federal and State Tax Regulations, winner must present a valid picture ID, preferably a Texas driver’s license, with their full name, current address, and date of birth. The winner must also provide proof of his/her social security number, and their home telephone number and work telephone number. The winner must claim the prize in person. Wives, husbands, children, relatives, etc. will not be allowed to show verification for the winner. Payment of any and all expenses related to any prize including, but not limited to taxes, is the sole responsibility of the winner. No substitution or transfer of prizes is permitted. Winner agrees that KVEO NBC 23 or its advertising agent have the right to publicize his/her name, likeness, and voice to promote participation in the “KVEO NBC 23’s 23,000 Pennies a Day Giveaway” contest. Winner has 10 business days to claim their prize or the prize is forfeited.
